Mark Reynolds celebrates after grabbing Scotland's second goal |
Scotland's Under 20 side proved too strong for Austria in their World Cup warm-up match at Firhill. Striker Ross Campbell fired the Scots in front with a swerving shot from outside the box.
Mark Reynolds doubled the Scots' lead three minutes into the second half with a shot from 16 yards.
Austria striker Erwin Hoffer reduced the deficit in 75 minutes, but five minutes later Campbell grabbed his second from the penalty spot.
The Austrians looked the livelier side in the opening exchanges, and the Scots took the lead against the run of play.
The Hibs youngster Campbell picked the ball up at the right-hand side of the Austria penalty area and his shot found the net.
Scotland made it 2-0 in the 48th minute when Reynolds curled a right-footed shot past Knaller from inside the box.
Austria were gifted a goal when a strongly-hit pass back from Cuthbert bounced off the startled Fox, allowing Hoffer to head home.
With 10 minutes remaining Knaller conceded a penalty when he fouled substitute Elliot, and Campbell scored to restore the Scots' two-goal advantage.
Earlier, the Scotland Under 19 side beat Austria 2-0.
Gretna striker Fraser McLaren and Aberdeen's Chris Maguire were on target in the first game of a double-bill at Partick Thistle's home.
