Bobby Williamson said the game would help the Scotland players |
Scotland B coach Bobby Williamson said the 2-2 draw with Finland at Rugby Park was "a worthwhile exercise". Former Plymouth boss Williamson said: "It was good to get the guys together and give them a taste of what is expected at this level.
"And we were up against a very experienced Finnish team."
New Scotland boss Alex McLeish picked the side and Williamson added: "I had a chat with Alex after the game and he was quite pleased with the exercise."
Williamson said the players would benefit from the game, despite the number of substitutions used.
"There was a lot of chopping and changing as you would imagine in these types of games and that did unsettle us at times and indeed their second goal came from that," he said.
"But it was good for the boys to come together and for Alex to meet them and he will have them in mind for the next games."
