David Healy is expected to be out for three weeks |
Northern Ireland striker David Healy has been ruled out of the 6 February friendly against Wales after breaking an elbow bone. Healy sustained the injury near the end of Leeds United's 2-1 Championship win over Hull City on Tuesday night.
Leeds hope that Healy will be back in action in three weeks.
That would mean Northern Ireland's record goalscorer being back well ahead of the Euro 2008 qualifying fixture away to Liechtenstein on 24 March.
"I knew as soon as I went down that something was badly wrong," Healy told the Belfast Telegraph.
"I have never felt such pain - I was in agony.
"I have been fortunate throughout my career with injuries. I have had a few niggles here and there but this one was the most painful."
