GROUP B: MEXICO 2-0 BRAZIL
After an opening day which saw Uruguay surprisingly beaten by Peru, the Copa America resumed on Wednesday with a shock of even greater proportion as defending champions Brazil fell to Mexico.

Mexico opened the scoring on 23 minutes in spectacular style when Nery Castillo flicked the ball over defender Maicon, collected it again without letting the ball touch the ground and beat goalkeeper Doni.
Ramon Morales doubled the lead with a curling free kick six minutes later, while Mexico keeper Guillermo Ochoa ensured his side stayed in front with a number of superb saves.
Mexico defender Rafael Marquez:
"Beating a team like Brazil is a great thrill and gives Mexico something to cheer about. But we need to take the victory calmly. There's still plenty of work to do."  | 606: DEBATE |

Chile left it late to come from behind to snatch a dramatic win over Ecuador, scoring twice in the last 10 minutes.

Ecuador dominated the early stages and took the lead through Antonio Valencia but Chile drew level through Humberto Suazo's long-distance effort.
Cristian Benitez restored Ecuador's lead on 26 minutes when he took advantage of an error by Chile keeper Claudio Bravo.
But substitute Carlos Villanueva inspired Chile's fightback as he set up Suazo to equalise before scoring the winner himself with only three minutes remaining.
Chile coach Nelson Acosta:
"We're a good team that sometimes plays well. Today, we didn't have a good game but we muddled through." Ecuador coach Luis Fernando Suarez :
"It was one of those games where the opponents don't beat you but you lose the game yourselves."
