Old Trafford, where England will take on Spain on 7 February |
England have arranged a friendly against Spain which will take place on 7 February at Old Trafford. "Spain are attractive opposition and many of them play in the Premiership, so there will be a lot of interest," said FA spokesman Adrian Bevington.
"With Wembley due to open soon, this is another opportunity for fans in the north to see the team closer to home."
It will be the first match between the teams since November 2004 when Spain were fined for fans' racist insults.
Spain won the match in Madrid 1-0, but the game was overshadowed by chants aimed at Ashley Cole and Shaun Wright-Phillips.
Spain's last visit to England came in February 2001 in what was former coach Sven-Goran Eriksson's first match in charge.
England triumphed 3-0 at Villa Park, with goals from Nick Barmby, Emile Heskey and Ugo Ehiogu.
The England Under-21 side will be in action on Tuesday 6 February, when they take on their Spanish counterparts at Derby County's Pride Park.
