Jurgen Klinsmann's decision to rule himself out becoming the American national team coach has led to Chivas USA boss Bob Bradley getting the job. Klinsmann, who took Germany to the World Cup semi-final before resigning, had been a favourite for the post.
But he said: "I have concluded our discussions about the US men's national team programme, and I have withdrawn my name from consideration.
"I'm not going to go into details about our conversations."

However, Bradley has been handed the job on an interim basis and his appointment was announced on Friday by US Soccer Federation president Sunil Gulati.
Bradley was also given the job of coaching the US under-23 team as they try to qualify for the 2008 Olympics.
"Bob Bradley's record of success in MLS (Major League Soccer) and in the development of American players gives us great confidence in his ability to begin the process of
preparing the US national team for its next four-year programming cycle," Gulati said.
Former coach Bruce Arena, who had been at the helm for eight years, was told in July that his contract would not be renewed.
