Lawrie Sanchez and Aaron Hughes enjoyed a good result in Denmark |
Northern Ireland manager Lawrie Sanchez saluted a job well done in Denmark but warned that Wednesday's game at home to Latvia would be more difficult. "It was a superb team performance, everybody was outstanding," said Sanchez after the 0-0 draw.
"But that is the easy part of the four days, the hardest comes when we play Latvia in Belfast.
"We played for the fans. They gave us fantastic support and the lads have given them something to celebrate."
Skipper Aaron Hughes said Northern Ireland had deserved the hard-earned point in Copenhagen.
"They put us under pressure but we hung in there and showed some character and grit," said Hughes after winning his 50th cap.
"We have come away from a difficult match with a point which is good.
"Jonny Evans has come in and proved he can play at this level. He did that against Spain in the last match and cemented that tonight.
"The fans were superb for us too and I hope they have a good night."
