James McFadden came off injured against Lithuania |
Scotland boss Walter Smith faces a striking crisis for the Euro 2008 game against France after James McFadden was ruled out for up to a month. Kenny Miller, who partnered the Everton man in the wins against Faroe Islands and Lithuania, is suspended for the match at Hampden Park on 7 October.
McFadden had to come off after 22 minutes in Lithuania.
And Everton have now confirmed that the hamstring injury could rule out the 23-year-old for about four weeks.
It means McFadden is also likely to miss the visit to Ukraine four days later.
The Ukraine FA has announced that the kick-off time for that match will be 8 pm local time, which is two hours ahead of the UK.
A couple of thousand Scotland fans are expected to make the journey to the Olympic Stadium in Kiev.
But many more swamped telephone lines and internet sites in a clamour for tickets for the match against France, which sold out in just a few hours.
Tickets went on public sale on Friday morning, but demand has been so great that a website offering them temporarily went offline.
More than 30,000 tickets had already been allocated in advance sales to members of the Scotland Supporters Club and visiting French supporters.
