Staunton's understrength side were hammered by Holland |
Shay Given, Richard Dunne, Damien Duff and Robbie Keane have all been named in the Republic of Ireland squad for the Euro 2008 qualifier against Germany. The key quartet were among eight players ruled out of last week's 4-0 home friendly hammering by Holland.
All four played for their clubs at the weekend and are set to play against the Germans in Stuttgart on 2 September.
Stephen Ireland is also included after missing the friendly defeat but Ian Harte remains out because of injury.
Manager Steve Staunton said he was delighted to welcome the return of the key players.
"They are regular members of the squad and it's vital that we have everyone we can available to us for this tough test," Staunton said.
Stephen Carr is also available despite picking up an injury in the game against Holland.
Carr played a full 90 minutes for Newcastle in the weekend win over Wigan.
