 Belgium and Holland hosted Euro 2000 |
The Belgian and Dutch Football Associations have met to discuss a possible joint bid to host the 2018 World Cup. "We will carry out a study before the end of the year and speak with our governments about getting their backing," said a Belgian FA spokesman.
The two countries jointly hosted the European Championships in 2000.
The English FA is also considering a bid to host the 2018 event but will not make a final decision until the autumn.
With South Africa hosting the 2010 showpiece and Brazil favourite for 2014, the 2018 World Cup is expected to return to Europe.
