David Taylor wants major finals in Scotland |
Scotland - who lost out for the 2008 finals - are considering bidding to host the 2016 European Championships. But Scottish FA chief executive David Taylor ruled out a joint bid along with Ireland and Wales, an idea put forward by Uefa president Lennart Johannson.
"It's a possibility we will bid," Taylor told BBC Sport. "But a bid involving all three Celtic nations is too impractical.
"We would never be put off in terms of bidding ambitiously for Scotland."
Taylor did not rule out working again with Ireland, with whom they lost out to Austria and Switzerland for the 2008 finals.
And the idea was given the backing of Sports Minister Patricia Ferguson.
"We are very keen for major sports events to come to Scotland and it's certainly something we would like to discuss with the SFA," she said.
