Wales manager John Toshack says the 0-0 Bulgaria draw was ideal preparation for the Euro 2008 qualifiers. "It was fair, both sides had chances - although they made a save outside the box," he said after the Swansea tie.
"It was a good exercise, especially getting the likes of Danny Gabbidon and Mark Delaney back after injury.
"We made changes to protect the squad and the young lads did well when they came on. It all starts for real against the Czech Republic on 2 September."
Toshack was also pleased with the news that John Hartson had made himself available for international selection if Wales require his services.
"John has done things in the right way, he phoned me to tell me that he was available again," said Toshack.

"That's great and we will consider him in the future, but I must say the lads who have come in have done well.
"I made it clear to John that with the style we will be playing at times it would not fit in with the way he plays, but I am happy that he is available and it does give me that extra option."
Man-of-the-match Craig Bellamy was also happy to learn that he could partner the West Brom striker once again.
"It's a positive move, we're a small nation with limited resources and we need people of his quality," said Bellamy.
"We played the right way against Bulgaria and tried a few different things - there was a lot to gain out of that as an exercise.
"The real stuff begins in a few weeks, though. It's a tough group, but we'll be in better shape then after a few league games."
