 Guus Hiddink's contract with Australia expires this summer |
Guus Hiddink is unlikely to continue as Australia's coach after the World Cup finals this summer, according to Football Federation Australia. PSV Eindhoven boss Hiddink, who has been linked to the national jobs for Russia and England, has been overseeing Australia's team on a part-time basis.
"It is unlikely Guus will be staying with us," revealed FFA chief executive John O'Neill.
Hiddink has led Australia to the World Cup finals for the first in 32 years.
O'Neill added: "Nothing we have talked about has indicated that he will be staying on."
Reports in Moscow last week suggested Hiddink had signed to coach Russia but Hiddink's representatives denied the stories.
In 1998 Hiddink guided his native Netherlands to the World Cup semi-finals and four years later the Dutchman led South Korea to the same stage of the competition.
