Clockwatch: Scotland 5-1 Bulgaria
Live on BBC One Scotland (first half), BBC Two Scotland (second half), BBC Interactive TV, BBC Radio Scotland and online

Goalflashes and major incidents (all times BST):

1304 BST: The final whistle goes on a remarkable scoreline in Kobe - Scotland 5-1 Bulgaria. Who needs the World Cup when you've got thrashings like this in the Kirin Cup?

1248 BST: GOAL Scotland 5-1 Bulgaria
Chris Burke spreads icing all over the cake with his second and Scotland's fifth in what is now a thrashing. That's two goals on debut for both Burke and Boyd. The Tartan Army would be struck dumb if they weren't so busy singing their lungs out.

1255 BST: McFadden has a chance to make it a fantastic five but curls his free-kick over the bar.

1248 BST: GOAL Scotland 4-1 Bulgaria
Chris Burke sends the Tartan Army into ecstacy with a gorgeous finish - lobbing a volley delicately over the goalkeeper. This is now one of the best Scottish performances in recent memory. Could there be even more to follow?

1240 BST: GOAL Scotland 3-1 Bulgaria
McFadden has done it this time - stretching at the near post to flick Teale's cross past Kolev. It's a great strike and which puts Walter Smith's side in control. Scotland are playing excellent passing football and the scoreline in no way flatters them.

1234 BST: A wonderful left-foot curling free-kick from James McFadden crashes against the crossbar with the 'keeper nowhere. Seconds later Scott Severin fires in another shot from outside the area, but this time Kolev gathers it safely.

1232 BST: Scotland are under the cosh, and only a brilliant headed clearance off the line from Caldwell prevents Bulgaria grabbing the equaliser.

1225 BST: There will be no hat-trick for Kris Boyd as manager Walter Smith hauls him off in favour of James McFadden. Boyd is understandably disappointed but must be delighted with his debut.

1221 BST: Gary Caldwell has the first chance of the second half, but his angled volley flies into the side netting. The Tartan Army are in full voice as Scotland look to build on their impressive showing.

1218 BST: A poor clearing header drops invitingly for Darren Fletcher who sets his sights on goal and unleashes a fierce, driven volley which rises over the crossbar.

1216 BST: The action resumes with Bulgaria getting the ball rolling. Neither manager has been tempted into making a half-time change.

1202 BST: Scotland hold their lead at half-time, with Neil Alexander making a smart save from a Todorov free-kick right on the whistle. Boyd is the undoubted star of the first half - leading the line with strength and pace, looking utterly at home in his first international and of course taking both chances to come his way.

1159 BST: GOAL Scotland 2-1 Bulgaria
Kris Boyd is in dreamland after his second goal on his first ever international game. It's not the hardest chance in the world - a tap-in from three yards after the goalkeeper parries - but it's enough to give Scotland back the lead.

1152 BST: Boyd is still looking lively upfront as Scotland seek to re-establish their lead - but the Bulgarian pairing of Todorov and Todarov is also causing problems.

1141 BST: GOAL Scotland 1-1 Bulgaria
Yordan Todarov brings Bulgaria level with a neat finish from fellow striker Todorov's lay-off. Scotland appeal for offside but the goal stands.

1136 BST: Another chance for Todorov, but Neil Alexander is quickly off his line to smother the ball before the Bulgarian striker can get his shot off.

1134 BST: Bulgaria fight back but Todorov mis-kicks inside the box and Scotland clear.

1128 BST: GOAL Scotland 1-0 Bulgaria
Kris Boyd seizes his first chance in international football with alacrity to put Scotland ahead with an excellent finish. Darren Fletcher put him through on the right hand side of the box and the debutant clipped it over goalkeeper Kolev.

1126 BST: Shaky defending at the back from Scotland as Weir and Caldwell struggle to clear an unassuming through-ball. It's a match waiting for a direction at the moment.

1121 BST: Scotland make their first foray forward, but Boyd is penalised for a push as he leaps for a near-post cross.

1115 BST: Play gets underway in front of a sparse crowd at the Kobe Wing Stadium. Rangers striker Kris Boyd looks relaxed as he makes his Scotland debut.

1100 BST: Spurs target Dimitar Berbatov is left out of Bulgaria's attack, adding to speculation that he will shortly be signing for Martin Jol's team.
