 | N IRELAND v ESTONIA Date: 1 March 2006 Kick-off: 2000 GMT Venue: Windsor Park, Belfast Live on BBC Radio Ulster and this website with highlights on BBC One Northern Ireland |
Northern Ireland manager Lawrie Sanchez says the fact that only three players have withdrawn from the panel to face Estonia shows the squad's commitment. "The days of eight or nine players crying off from a friendly match are behind us I think so, in that regard, we are moving in the right direction.
"I don't doubt for a minute the commitment of those who are injured.
"Estonia is not an easy game and if we do not play well, they are very capable of beating us," warned Sanchez.
The NI boss added that it would be "nice to finish the last game of this season on a high, with a decent win".
"Results are important and we want to win matches, but within that, you want to give some new players a chance.
"We want to give the supporters something back for the backing they gave us throughout the last campaign and in August we will start looking ahead seriously to the Euro 2008 qualifiers."
