Terry Venables guided England to the semi-finals of Euro 96 |
Leading bookmakers have suspended betting on the next Republic of Ireland manager after heavy backing for ex-England coach Terry Venables. Venables, who led England to the semi-finals of Euro 96, is currently employed as a television pundit.
He managed Crystal Palace, QPR, Tottenham, Middlesbrough and Leeds in England while taking charge of Barcelona during a spell in Spain.
Brian Kerr left the Republic post after failing to qualify for the World Cup.
