Charlton midfielder Darren Ambrose scored in the last minute to earn England's Under-21 side victory against their Danish counterparts in Herning.
Ambrose latched onto a cross into the box to fire across Kevin Ellegaard and earn England victory in the friendly.
Peter Taylor's side had dominated the first half but Carlton Cole missed two good chances to put his side ahead.
Denmark had Morten Rasmussen sent off but they still improved and Mikkel Thygesen forced Lee Camp to save.
• England Under-21 manager Peter Taylor: "That was the perfect friendly. We played some exceptional attacking stuff in the first half.
"It took a while to break them down but we got there in the end and we also managed to make sure every player got 45 minutes and the ones who really needed it got 90.
"Overall, I am really happy. It was played in a competitive manner and we are better prepared for the matches next month."
