Mexico are now unbeaten in 19 games |
Mexico came from behind to beat Japan 2-1 in their Group B opener at the Confederations Cup thanks to goals from Zinha and Jose Fonseca. Atsushi Yanagisawa's 12th minute tap-in
had given Japan a surprise early lead.
Just before the break Brazilian-born forward Zinha came up with a superb long-range strike to equalise.
Mexico dominated for the remainder of the game and sealed the victory when Jose Fonseca cleverly headed in a Luis Perez cross in the 64th minute.
