Azerbaijan coach Carlos Alberto has admitted he might have to ask three of his players to mark Wayne Rooney. The captain of Brazil's 1970 World Cup winning side has seen England's 18-year-old striker compared to his former team-mate Pele in recent weeks.
And Alberto says the Manchester United forward will be the biggest threat to his team in Wednesday's qualifier.
"Rooney is an excellent player. He will be our big problem and we may need two or three players to look after him."
Alberto was disappointed with the quality on show when Azerbaijan played Northern Ireland and Wales and he is looking forward to meeting England.
"England play much better football. They will probably beat us but at least we will have the chance to show we can play football," said the Brazilian legend.
A sell-out crowd of 32,000 is expected at the Tofik Bakhramov Stadium in Baku.
But Alberto is disappointed they will not get the chance to see England skipper David Beckham play.
The Real Madrid midfielder, who suffered a hairline fracture of a rib against Wales, would have missed Wednesday's game through suspension anyway after picking up a yellow card on Saturday.
"It is good for us that Beckham is not playing but not good for football because our people are not going to see him," he added.
"We will have a full stadium. People hope they can see a great player and good football but of course it helps our team."
Since a 6-0 thrashing by Israel in his first game in charge, Alberto has transformed a team lying 116th in the Fifa rankings into a competitive outfit.
Wins over Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan have been followed by creditable draws against Latvia, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Gurban Gurbanov is likely to start up front against England after being dropped to the bench on Saturday.
The experienced captain is his country's reigning player of the year and their record international goalscorer with 14 goals.
England are expected to secure a convincing victory but Alberto said: "My main aim is to prepare a team that will show the English people we are capable of playing well."
