England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson has the full support of the Football Association, according to non-executive director Rupert Lowe. Southampton chairman Lowe said the FA has now turned its attentions to an overhaul of its procedures.
"As far as I am concerned Sven will continue to be the England manager and will be given our support," Lowe told BBC Radio Five Live's Sportsweek.
"The key issue now is to get the structure of the FA right."
He added: "The FA is the game's governing body and it should be in charge of grass-roots football and avoid getting involved in too many other things."
Lowe said there would no rush to replace former chief executive Mark Palios, who resigned in the wake of allegations about his affair with Faria Alam.
"It's not been a good time for the FA but it has an opportunity to put in place a sustainable structure - then find the right people to carry out the required duties," he said.
"Unless you know the right structure you do not know the right candidate.
"It is a good opportunity to build on the progress that has been made and get the FA into a situation everyone can be proud of."
