League One leaders Brighton continue to fight on two fronts
Brighton boss Gus Poyet is determined their 1-0 FA Cup win against Watford will not distract the club from their bid to win promotion from League One.
An Ashley Barnes goal sent the League One leaders into the fifth round draw.
"Sometimes when you are at the top you need to be careful not to get carried away with the FA Cup and forget about the league," said the Uruguayan.
"At the moment the players are focused but I hope it doesn't change because the priority is to get up."
The former Chelsea star added: "I saw what happened to Leeds last year, they were beating Premiership teams and during the month was losing every single game in the league. I don't want that."
Watford manager Malky Mackay was frustrated that his side could not turn possession into chances at Vicarage Road.
"It was a below-par performance for us. They're disappointed because we didn't click in terms of the chances at goal," he said.
"We had a lot of pressure in the second half and we had the one where the goalkeeper spreads himself and blocks Will Buckley's attempt from five or six yards but, that apart, we probably didn't test Brighton as well as we should."
