Brentford   1 - 0   Walsall

Leon Legge scored his first senior goal to put Brentford into the FA Cup third round for the first time since 2006.

The defender rose to powerfully head home John Bostock's early corner and the Bees should have scored more.

Mark Hughes and Matt Richards cleared efforts off the line from Ben Strevens and Ryan Dickson, and Strevens and Cleveland Taylor wasted other chances.

Walsall rallied and Lewis Price had to deny Richards and Troy Deeney, while Legge superbly tackled Steve Jones.

Brentford manager Andy Scott told BBC London 94.9

"[Leon Legge] did well against Gateshead and I felt that defensively we hadn't been strong and he was due his chance.

"He heads it, he kicks it and just loves playing football."
