Gus Poyet made it two wins out of two as Brighton manager as the Seagulls overcame Wycombe to earn a place in the FA Cup second round.
Andrew Crofts put Brighton ahead when he arrived late in the box to strike home an Elliott Bennett cross.
And former Wolves winger Bennett settled the replay by firing a low show past Scott Shearer from 30 yards.
Shearer made a sharp save from Nicky Forster to prevent a heavier defeat for Gary Waddock's men.
Brighton manager Gus Poyet told BBC Sussex:
"We started very well, we had plenty of chances.
"It's a cup game and if you had asked me before the game if I'd take 2-0, I would say yes, 100%.
"It wasn't fantastic but the effort was there, the winning mentality was there, it's okay, I'm pleased."
