Portsmouth have won just four games with Tony Adams in charge
Tony Adams has hailed Swansea City's promising manager Roberto Martinez.
The Portsmouth manager admits he is impressed by Swansea's attractive brand of football and says their FA Cup clash on Saturday week will be a "big test."
Adams, a three-times FA Cup winner, said: "I love the way Roberto's team plays and I love the way he encourages to get the ball down and play.
"Swansea have got a really good set-up, good coaches and a very good manager who will be a tough test for us."
The Swans secured their path through to the fourth round with a 2-1 win at non-league Histon while cup holders Portsmouth beat Bristol City 2-0.
Adams is a rookie top-flight manager after being promoted from assistant boss to take over at Fratton Park in October when Harry Redknapp left for Tottenham Hotspur.
Martinez, meanwhile, is the youngest boss in the Championship and last year's League One champions have been universally praised for their attractive style of play.
Swansea are consolidating their position in English football's second tier and even have outside hopes of reaching the Championship play-offs.
Portsmouth are struggling in the Premier League and have recently lost star players Jermain Defoe and Lassana Diarra to Spurs and Real Madrid respectively.
And Adams admits: "It will be a tough game.
"I've seen Swansea a few times and they are very similar to Bristol City.
"They play a 4-3-3 formation and have very good technical players. They're a good team, a tough outfit, they play nice football so it will be a test."
Adams has personal experience of the highs and lows of the FA Cup.
The former Arsenal and England captain has won the competition three times and was part of Redknapp's backroom team when Pompey beat Cardiff 1-0 in last season's Wembley final.
Adams, won four championships during his Highbury days, has also been the victim of FA Cup giant-killings at York, Hereford and most memorably at Wrexham.
The then reigning league champions Arsenal were humbled 2-1 in a third-round game at the Racecourse in 1992 by a Wrexham side who had finished bottom of the Football League in the previous season
"It's the cup," acknowledged Adams. "Anything can happen."
Swansea have been allocated 3,144 tickets for the Fratton Park clash on Saturday, 24 January.
