Harrold had only previously scored one goal for Wycombe
AFC Wimbledon's debut appearance in the FA Cup first round ended in defeat as a Matt Harrold hat-trick helped League Two Wycombe ease into round two.
Harrold exploited a Dons error to give Wycombe the lead with a low finish and rounded Andy Little to double the lead.
Sam Hatton gave the hosts hope when he prodded home from a Tom Davis cross.
But a neat, first-time finish from Matt Phillips restored the visitors' cushion before Harrold fired past Little to set up a trip to non-league Eastwood.
Wycombe manager Peter Taylor told BBC Three Counties Radio:
"I thought it was very professional. We restricted Wimbledon to just a few chances, they are a good team and we had to do it right and I think we did.
"They have great support here, and they got behind their team. It would have been a very nervous situation if they had got an equaliser."
