Suffolk teams aim for Cup glory

FA Cup

Bury Town and Leiston will bid for places in the first round proper of the FA Cup on Saturday.

Bury host Blue Square South side Basingstoke Town while Leiston face Lewes who are bottom of the Blue Square Premier.

Bury Town are having their best run in the Cup for 22 years while Leiston have only reached the fourth qualifying round once in their history, 1945.

The winners receive prize money of �12,500 and a place in Sunday's draw.

Bury will be without three key players for the game at Ram Meadow.

Goalkeeper Dean Greygoose and defender Roscoe Hipperson are both injured while new signing Ben Coker is cup-tied.

Young midfielder Joe Boreham has been added to the squad after impressing in the youth team.

Leiston, the lowest ranked team left in the competition, are expecting a big crowd at Victory Road and hope to cause an upset.

Lewes play four divisions higher than the Ridgeons Premier League side but have won just twice in the Blue Square Premier all season.
