Britton and Trundle ensured there was no upset at Spytty Park |
Lee Trundle, Leon Britton and Izzy Iriekpen scored first-half goals to give Swansea victory in the all-Welsh FA Cup first round tie in Newport. But the match was marred by a head injury to fourth official Alan Sheffield, who was struck by a coin thrown from the stands at Spytty Park.
It came after Newport manager Peter Beadle was sent off for arguing over a free-kick which led to Britton's goal.
Newport improved after the break and Ian Hillier grabbed a consolation goal.
