 Laidlaw received 44% of the votes on the FA's website | Gosport Borough's Jamie Laidlaw has been voted as the first FA Cup "Player of the Round" for the 2005/06 season. The award caps a great start to the season for the striker who has scored 10 goals in the FA Cup this campaign. He won 44% of the vote on the FA's website ahead of Halesowen's Howard Forinton, Hendon's John Frendo and Goole's Steve Davey. The winner in each round receives an engraved silver salver and a VIP seat at the 2006 FA Cup Final at Wembley. He also wins �1000 worth of Umbro football kit for a local school, club or organisation of his choice. Laidlaw helped Gosport, who play in Wessex League Division One, to a 2-1 win at Eastbourne Town in the first qualifying round.
