Millwall goalscorer Tim Cahill was understandably delighted after his goal took his side into the FA Cup final. He followed up after Paul Ifill's shot had been parried by Mart Poom and told BBC Sport: "I took my chance and I'm just happy that we won.
"This is unbelievable. It is not only for the players and the staff but for the supporters as well as us."
Cahill won his first cap for Australia on Tuesday and added: "It's definitely the best week of my life.
"Winning my cap was emotional but this was a different story. We have been a lot of places before and been up there but have never really finished the job.
"Now we can give something back to the fans and we are in Europe - who would have thought it.
"We have a great squad and everyone can play. If someone comes out, then someone else comes in.
"All the youngsters have done well and they haven't hidden - they have enjoyed it and relished it.
"I can't emphasise how far we have come together as youngsters and the rewards are special. Not many players have come here and not worked hard.
"A lot of us have played some 200 odd games and just a bit of respect now would be nice.
"It is really, really enjoyable to be part of this team."
Player-manager Dennis Wise said: "This is fantastic. They are a great bunch of lads and I am proud of all of them, chairman Theo Paphitis and the fans.
"I have told the lads all the way along that if they believed in themselves they could go all the way."
Paphitis, who was embraced by Wise on the pitch by his manager, said: "I can't put this into words, it is unreal - Millwall in the final of the FA Cup and Europe."
Assistant manager Ray Wilkins was full of praise for the players and added: "They were absolutely fantastic. It is such a lovely day for these guys and they deserve this."
Striker Neil Harris admitted he could not really take in what the side had achieved.
"It is frightening and I cannot quite believe it," he said. "Maybe when we pick up the papers on Monday morning it will really sink in.
"No-one wanted us in the final and I don't think the boys know what to do. We have never really got anywhere before - it feels fantastic.
"Manchester United are English football, they are a massive club with some great players but we are going to go win there to win the game.
"They have lost a few games this year against some bottom sides and we will enjoy the day and the fans will have a great time."
