The former-Leeds United player, now with German club Hamburg SV, has allegedly not paid tax on DM2.3m (about 0.75m) he received after extending his contract with Eintracht Frankfurt in 1993. "What must be established is whether the evasion was deliberate," his lawyer Thomas Kruppa said. "I can't see any malice because he did not have a good command of the language in which the contract was written," he added. The trial of the 34-year-old Ghanaian will start on 3 August. | See also: Internet links: The BBC is not responsible for the content of external internet sites Other top Europe stories: Links to top Europe stories are at the foot of the page. | ||
