England midfielder David Beckham is confident he will rejoin Serie A side AC Milan on loan from Los Angeles Galaxy in the January transfer window.
The England midfielder had a successful loan spell at Milan last season during the Major League Soccer off-season.
"It's very close - it's 95% done," said the 34-year-old after playing for England as a substitute in the 3-0 World Cup qualifying win over Belarus.
"I don't see why it isn't going to happen. I always wanted to go back."
Beckham is keen to play for Milan to maximise his chances of selection for Fabio Capello's squad which will go to South Africa for the World Cup finals next summer.
Over recent weeks Milan and Galaxy officials have spoken of the likelihood of a loan deal being concluded.
Milan vice president Adriano Galliani said: "It's very probable that Beckham will come on loan until 30 June."
Tim Leiweke, chief of Galaxy's owners AEG said: "We want to get a deal done for him and for us."
Leiweke added that the former England skipper would not be required to return from Milan to Los Angeles before the World Cup in South Africa.
Beckham, who won his 115th cap when coming on as a substitute in Wednesday's game against Belarus, returned to the England squad during a successful loan period at Milan last season.
England have been exceptional - Beckham
He joined Milan on an initial three-month deal in January that was extended to the end of the season.
Following the departure of Kaka to Real Madrid and coach Carlo Ancelotti to Chelsea, Milan have made an uncertain start to the Italian league season.
Now coached by Brazilian Leonardo, Milan are 12th in the Serie A table, seven points behind champions Inter Milan.
