Player-manager Legg's exertions could not save the Reds against Motherwell

Llanelli player-manager Andy Legg says he plans to win the Welsh Premier after the disappointment of the Reds' Europa League exit to Motherwell.

"We must learn from the mistakes," said Legg, whose side went out at the first qualifying round, following up a superb 1-0 away win with a 3-0 home defeat.

"We feel deflated. We get the players once a week, they get them every day. They had superior fitness and quality.

"It's up to us to win our league now to make sure we are here again next year."

Legg admitted that his shell-shocked side never recovered after a dismal start, conceding an eighth-minute goal at Parc y Scarlets.

"We are disappointed," he said. "We robbed them up there. We knew what we were up against and tried to stifle them but it didn't work.

"We set our stall out and needed to keep it tight not to concede early on and you get punished at this level.

"We switched off for both goals. We're disappointed as it was our errors.

"We can't fault them for togetherness and determination.

"We could have thrown the towel in but it could have been worse.

"We dug in and had a right pop. We had a couple of half chances but it wasn't to be."
