Set-piece leveller upsets Scolari

Manager Luiz Felipe Scolari was unhappy with the goal Chelsea conceded in the 1-1 draw at Bordeaux, which prevented them clinching a spot in the last 16.

Chelsea must beat Cluj in their last group game to be sure of qualifying.

Scolari said: "It is a bad goal - the first time since I coach Chelsea that we conceded a goal from a corner.

"We were strong in attack and it should have been an easy game after we scored. We gave up the goal and I am not satisfied with it."

Chelsea now sit one point behind Roma in Group A, who leapfrogged them with a win over Cluj.

But Scolari is confident that Chelsea will go through, even though they will be without Frank Lampard in their last group game after the midfielder was sent off against Bordeaux.

"The qualification is in our hands," he added. "Now we need to win the last game.

"We need to beat Cluj at home. But if I thought the team did not have the quality to beat Cluj at home, then I had better go back to Brazil.

"The red card for Lampard means he is one player I will miss for the next game.

"But I think we still have a 75% chance to beat Cluj at home. But maybe we will not (finish) first in the group."

Bordeaux manager Laurent Blanc was delighted that his side managed to score against Chelsea from a set-piece, which also ensures they are still in with a chance of qualifying from the group.

The French side are one point behind Chelsea, and two behind leaders Roma.

"I am very satisfied with the players and their performance and the players can be too," said Blanc.

"I know it's the first goal Chelsea have conceded from a corner and we have been working on set-pieces so I am happy about that.

"Our game plan was to reduce the space and pressure them but that's the best game we've played against a team as good as Chelsea.

"Everyone thought Chelsea and Roma were the favourites to go through but now there's a third team and they're called Bordeaux."
