1144: Terrific work everyone. Remember to keep checking the website for news of the fixtures. Each team plays two away ties and two at home. Pompey fans will surely be crossing fingers for Milan away... See you soon.

1139: By general consensus, the Group of Death award appears to be going to Group C - with not an English club in sight. Not a bad shout that. Stuttgart are third in the Bundesliga, Sevilla third in La Liga, Sampdoria struggling but could come good, and Everton and Liverpool fans can tell you all about Standard Liege.

1137: "Ancelotti vs Redknapp should be a lovely match-up... I can already imagine Sol Campbell huffing and puffing to keep up with Pato, Sheva scoring a last minute scuffed goal... Also Van Basten vs Martin O'Neill should be an attacking match..."

1134: "Cheesy, can you explain why Spurs didn't get Heerenveen or Wolfsburg instead of Spartak and St-Etienne? That draw seemed a little muddled to me!"
David, Kent, via text on 81111
A little muddled? I have no idea. We were all baffled by that.

1133: "What is it with Spurs players playing their former clubs? Pavlyuchenko/Spartak Moscow AND Modric/Dinamo Zagreb. Joy."

1131: I'm not sure you could describe any of those groups as easy for the English clubs - but when you consider the top three go through, I don't think any of them should be too worried.

1128: "City's draw could've been worse. Personally I think Villa have a much tougher draw."
Luke, Truro, via text on 81111

1126: That's it for the groups then. Now for the fixtures...which will be available in half an hour apparently.

1123: "Horror draw for City, they will do extremely well to qualify from that group."
Michael, Aberdeen, via text on 81111

1109: We're about to get under way - the draw will appear at the top of the page...

1107: "Re 1053: Basically every nation gets a ranking which is the average points over the last five years divided by number of entrants. On top of this you get the points you received for your performance in last 5 years. Tottenham have played well in Europe last few years so of the entrants are within the eight highest point scorers."
Dominic, Herts, via text on 81111

1103: Blah, blah, blah, blah. I remember this fella from the Champions League draw last season. Dry, very dry. Come on, let's get the ping pong balls in the goldfish bowls and get going...

1101: "Welcome to the house of Uefa," says our host David Taylor, general secretary of Uefa. Thanks very much!

1056: "Re 1038: We went to the Uefa HQ and pulled up outside the front doors. The kids jumped out, pulled the sort of faces 10-year-olds do, and I took a picture. Into the car and gone. Take that Blatter."
Martin from Leam via text on 81111
It's Platini's house surely, not Blatter's

1053: I was going to try to explain the seedings in simple language, but I honestly don't get it. Anyone else? I can tell you that teams from the same country can't face each other...

1050: Lots of people wondering how Spurs have ended up as top seeds... Uefa's explanation is clear: "The Uefa team ranking is computed by the sum of 5 coefficients in the last 5 years. See the team ranking of 2008 for an example of such a ranking list. In this list the yellow lines with country information indicate the lowest possible value for a team of that country (even if that team didn't play any game in the last five years). The most recent team ranking is used for seeding of clubs for draws in the Champions League and the Uefa Cup." Got that?

1046: "Re 1038: I've been to Nyon! It's very pretty, on the shores of Lake Geneva, Irish pub in the town although not a lot else - and the most expensive taxis in the world."
Sharon in Bury via text on 81111

1044: "Villa fan here. Don't care who we get, but it's got to involve Ajax. Please Uefa god. Thursday til Sunday in the Dam. Life won't get much better."
Tony H, via text on 81111
Fan of tulips, Tony?

1038: So this draw, as do so many, takes place in Nyon, Switzerland. At the behest of my colleague, I'm asking if anyone has ever been to this mysterious town? Is it worth a weekend break? What's the night life like?

1036: "Hoping for a nice easyjet (other airlines are available) flight to Milan, Valencia or Copenhagen."
Jolly in Bristol, via text on 81111

1033: "BUT HOW DOES IT WORK?" I hear you cry. Well, lovely readers, we'll have groups of five. Each team plays two opponents away and two at home, then the top three qualify for the next knockout round. I know, the top three. It hardly seems worth bothering. The bottom two will be entered into the Zenith Data Systems Cup.

1028: "I have a feeling that one of the English teams will draw Standard Liege (who are a decent outfit). Can just see it coming!"

1025: It's a dreary old morning (in London anyway) so I can't imagine what else you'd want be doing except telling me your Uefa Cup group stage hopes and dreams - via text on 81111 or on trusty old 606.

1020: I knew there was a reason I woke up before the alarm went off this morning... it's the flipping draw for the Uefa Cup group stage! Massive.
