Real Madrid defender Roberto Carlos will join Turkish champions Fenerbahce at the end of the Spanish season. The former Brazil left-back has spent 11 years at the Bernabeu but is looking forward to a new challenge and working under compatriot Zico in Turkey.
"He's one of the reasons why I chose Fenerbahce. He is an idol of Brazilian football and it's a great honour to work with him," said Carlos.
The terms of the 34-year-old's contract have not been disclosed.
"Turkish football is improving every day and Fenerbahce is one of the leaders," he added.
"I chose Fenerbahce to contribute to a club that has set itself high goals and wants to make a leap."
The Brazilian has won three La Liga titles in his time in Spain and could go out with a fourth as Real lead the table with two games remaining.
