Reggina president Foti had his phone line tapped |
Italian club Reggina have become the fifth club ordered to stand trial over allegations of match-fixing. An Italian Football Federation (FIGC) spokesman said its prosecutor, Stefano Palazzi, had charged the Serie A side with sporting fraud.
The move comes after reports the telephone conversations of Reggina president, Lillo Foti, were tapped.
Juventus, AC Milan, Fiorentina and Lazio have already been punished for their part in the scandal.
The four clubs were handed their penalties in the wake of Italy's triumph at the World Cup in Germany.
They each had the punishments reduced on appeal but could still take matters further by launching civil court cases.
Juventus were initially stripped of their last two league titles and relegated down to Serie B.
They were also given a 30-point handicap before having this reduced to 17 after appeal.
The cases of Lazio and Fiorentina saw them demoted before the appeal resulted in them being reinstated to Serie A.
However, this move came with an increase in their point penalties with Fiorentina having to start the Serie A season with a 19-point deficit and Lazio 11.
AC Milan's battle has seen them get the initial 15-point penalty down to eight.
They have also been allowed to take part in the Champions League but the other teams involved will not be allowed to play in European competition.
