Juventus paid 33m to Parma for Buffon in 2001 |
Juventus manager Didier Deschamps insists goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon will remain at the club in Serie B. Buffon has been linked with moves to Arsenal and AC Milan after Juventus' demotion to Italy's second tier and 30-point deduction for match fixing.
But Deschamps said: "We have managed to keep the goalkeeper. I am 100% certain that Buffon is staying.
"It is important that we have managed to keep a world-class goalkeeper and striker - Alessandro Del Piero."
Fabio Cannavaro and Emerson have already departed to Real Madrid while Lilian Thuram and Gianluca Zambrotta moved to Barcelona on Thursday.
Juve sporting director Alessio Secco had said that he was confident that Del Piero and Pavel Nedved would remain, and Buffon's agent has insisted that the goalkeeper is also staying at the Stadio Delli Alpi.

Deschamps added: "Currently, four players have left, but I am hopeful some others will decide to stay with us."
France striker David Trezeguet, also linked to Arsenal, is another who has been tipped to leave in the wake of the verdict.
But the new Juve boss is determined to keep him at the club.
He added: "It is important that we keep Trezeguet because his worth is undeniable. Also I have the added advantage of knowing him very well from when we played together.
"I spoke to him before the sentence, but he is on holiday now and we must wait for him to come back before we know what his decision will be. It's up to him."
