British clubs discovered the size of their task in the third qualifying round of the Champions League.
Holders Liverpool avoided the widely-touted clash with Mersey rivals Everton, and will face CSKA Sofia who saw off Dinamo Tirana of Albania.
Manchester United will face Debrecen, conquerors of Hajduk Split of Croatia, mindful of an embarrassing hiccup when they lost to Zalaegerszeg the last time they faced Hungarian opposition.
Everton were handed the tough task of facing Spanish side Villareal, who finished third in La Liga last season.
And Rangers, Scotland's sole representatives following Celtic's defeat to Artmedia Bratislava, will play Anorthosis Famagusta of Cyprus who saw off Turkish outift Trabzonspor.
BBC Sport gives you the inside track on the sides Britain's four clubs pulled out of the Champions League hat.
Chelsea and Arsenal enter the Champions League at the group stage.
- Who are they: CSKA Sofia clinched a tie against the holders with a 4-0 aggregate win over Tirana.
- Big stars: Hristo Yanev, a talented midfield man who was Bulgaria's footballer of the year for 2004/05.
- Strengths: Midfield man Emil Gargorov will pose the main threat to Liverpool with his eye for goal. On target in Tirana.
- Weaknesses: Unlikely to possess the overall strength to cope with Liverpool's power.
- Did you know: Star man Yanev was attacked by three men outside his home after returning from the win in Albania.
- Verdict: Comfortable passage for the holders.
- Who are they: Debrecen's 5-0 win in the second leg completed an 8-0 aggregate mauling of Hadjuk Split.
- Big stars: Igor Bogdanovic, a 30-year-old striker who was top scorer in the Hungarian top-flight with 15 goals last season.
- Strengths: Good counter-attacking style, and a talented striker in Hungarian international Zsombor Kerekes.
- Weaknesses: Debrecen may have had enough to get past Split but are unlikely to repeat United's embarrassing defeat against Hungarian opposition, a 1-0 loss at Zalaegerszeg at the same stage in 2002.
- Did you know: Key man Kerekes had a trial spell at Brighton last summer.
- Verdict: Should be no problems for United.
- Who are they: Despite a 1-0 second-leg defeat, Cypriots Anorthosis clung on to overcome Trabzonspor 3-2 on aggregate.
- Big stars: Anorthosis player-coach is former Newcastle midfield man Temuri Ketsbaia, the former Georgian international.
- Strengths: Great spirit fostered by Ketsbaia, a legendary figure at the club in his second spell. Their victory in the first game is regarded by many as the greatest result in Cypriot football history.
- Weaknesses: Lack of big-time experience may count against them in a hostile Ibrox atmosphere if they go through.
- Did you know: Anorthosis were made homeless in 1974 after the Turkish invasion of Cyprus forced them to abandon their GSE stadium as Famagusta came under occupation.
- Verdict: Rangers will be happy with the draw, but after the experience of their arch-rivals Celtic against Artmedia Bratislava, they will take nothing for granted.
