 Beckham scored from a free-kick |
England skipper David Beckham helped Real Madrid clinch a fourth successive victory by scoring in the 3-1 La Liga win over Cadiz on Saturday. Cadiz took a surprise lead 10 minutes into the second half, with a goal from Alexander Medina.
But Brazilian Roberto Carlos equalised and then Beckham put Real ahead with a magnificent curling free-kick.
Brazilian forward Robinho sealed the victory for Real near the end with a sensational dipping 30-yard volley.
Robinho was left purring at his team's ability from set-pieces that helped them on their way to a win.
"Roberto Carlos and David Beckham are the best in the world at taking free kicks," said Robinho.
"The first one Roberto scored with sheer power; the second one they had the goalkeeper thinking it was Roberto who was going to take it but then David surprised him."
The win leaves Real third in the table and within 10 points of leaders Barcelona.
Barca, who are on 46 points, host basement side Alaves at the Nou Camp on Sunday.
Osasuna are in second place on 39 points.
