Petrescu played for Chelsea between 1995 and 2000 |
Dan Petrescu has been confirmed as the new head coach of reigning Polish champions Wisla Krakow. The ex-Chelsea defender will take over at Wisla on 1 January, when he replaces caretaker boss Tomasz Kulawik - who came in after Jerzy Engel's sacking.
Petrescu, who won 95 caps for Romania, recently quit as boss of Sportul Studentesc Bucharest.
"I'll show my players new things because I still have good fitness," said the 37-year-old.
"Regarding communication, I will have a translator and I will learn Polish in the coming months."
Wisla, who have won the Polish title for the last three seasons, are top of the league standings after earning 32 points from their opening 16 matches.
