Round-up of other Uefa Cup ties

Parma went through to the semi-finals of the Uefa Cup after a 0-0 home draw against Austria Vienna in the second leg.

Parma, who have won the competition twice before, had goalkeeper Luca Bucci to thank after he tipped Libor Sionko's curling free-kick on to the post a minute before half-time.

That was the closest either side came to scoring and the home side went through on the away goals rule after drawing 1-1 in Austria last week.

Parma will face CSKA Moscow, who progressed to the last four for the first time, despite losing 2-0 at Auxerre.

With a four-goal advantage from the first leg, the Russian outfit fell a goal behind on the night when Yann Lachuer collected a headed pass from Bonaventure Kalou to fire home.

But Auxerre caused few further problems for the CSKA defence until Kalou scored from the spot with 11 minutes left after substitute Luigi Pieroni had been brought down.

Dutch side AZ Alkmaar will face Sporting, conquerors of Newcastle, in the other semi-final after drawing 1-1 at home against Spain's Villarreal, to progress 3-2 on aggregate.

AZ, who lost the 1981 final to Ipswich, had won the first leg 2-1 in Spain and went further ahead when Kenneth Perez opened the scoring from just outside the box after only eight minutes.

Both teams were reduced to 10 men after 20 minutes.

Italian referee Roberto Rosetti showed AZ central defender Barry Opdam a second yellow card and in the ensuing melee, Villarreal's Jose Mari was sent off for pushing over and kicking Barry van Galen.

Tim de Cler fired over from a good position and Jose Manuel Reina kept out a fierce shot from Perez before Juan Riquelme broke through on the right to set up Luciano Figueroa for the equaliser.

Minutes later, Riquelme almost forced the tie into extra-time when he sent a free-kick crashing against the post.
