 | I'll only leave Feyenoord when I have the permission of management |
Feyenoord striker Dirk Kuyt has told Tottenham, Liverpool, Newcastle and Everton he will not move to the Premiership for at least one more year. The 25-year-old striker was the subject of a failed 10m bid from Everton and has been eyed by other English clubs.
Kuyt, who scored 29 goals in 34 games last term, said: "I have taken my final decision. I'm staying at Feyenoord.
"If a tremendous club comes in I'll listen to it, but I'll also say that it's only for next season."
Kuyt, who has started the new campaign with three goals in three matches to help put Feyenoord joint-top of the Dutch Eredivisiewith, admitted that start to the new season played a part in his decision. "It was an enormous shot in the arm for everyone that wishes Feyenoord well, and it did play a role.
"But the most important thing was that the time had come to make a call. I thought about what's good for me and what isn't and on Sunday I decided to stay at Feyenoord.
"I've never thought about forcing a break with Feyenoord.
"I'll only leave Feyenoord when I have the permission of management. I don't want to leave in unpleasant circumstances."
