Wanderley Luxemburgo had a remarkable start to his Real Madrid career as Zinedine Zidane's late penalty gave his side a 2-1 win over Real Sociedad. Luxemburgo's debut as coach lasted just over six minutes as the sides finished off a match which had been suspended last month because of a bomb threat.
The match resumed through a Sociedad goalkick with the scores level at 1-1.
But after Ronaldo was fouled by Mikel Labaka, Zidane converted the penalty to seize all three points for Madrid.
The 'game', which consisted of two minutes and 40 seconds of normal time and four minutes of injury time, moved Madrid into third place in La Liga, but they still trail league leaders and bitter rivals Barcelona by 12 points.
The original match on 12 December was called off shortly before the end after a bomb scare at the Bernabeu stadium.
Ronaldo had put Madrid ahead after 42 minutes, while Nihat Kahveci equalised for Sociedad on 73 minutes.
Real were prompted to bring in Luxemburgo to replace Mariano Garcia Remon after losing 1-0 to Seville in their final game of 2004.
