Brazil youngster Robinho will join Real Madrid next summer, according to one of the 20-year-old's agents. "Real Madrid want to reach an agreement to have a preferential option to buy Robinho next June," Juan Figger told Spanish newspaper Marca.
"An agreement is very close, but we have to finalise the last few details."
Robinho, who plays for Santos, wants to leave Brazil in order to avoid a repeat of the recent kidnapping of his mother, who was snatched during a barbecue.
Another of Robinho's representatives, Wagner Ribeiro, said: "He's having a very difficult time at the moment.
"It would affect anyone if their mother was kidnapped, but he is especially close to her and it has hit him very hard.
"He has asked me to stay here in Spain to agree his move to Real Madrid before returning to Brazil.
"He wants to settle his professional future because he wants to live a normal, quiet life and the only way to do that is to leave Brazil."
