![]() | Guardiola fails second test ![]() Guardiola moved from Barcelona in September Brescia midfielder Josep Guardiola has tested positive for the banned steroid nandrolone, for the second time. The former Barcelona player initially failed a routine test after the league match with Piacenza on 21 October, and was subesquently suspended pending a disciplinary hearing. Now, a further test has revealed another positive result following the match against Lazio on 4 November. Guardiola, nicknamed 'Pep', joined the Italian first division club from Barcelona in September this year. Other star names in European football have also failed drug tests this season. Davids ban reduced Lazio's Dutch international defender Jaap Stam tested positive for nandrolone and has been suspended pending a second test. Barcelona's Dutch international Frank De Boer had his one-year suspension reduced in July. He claimed he had taken the drug unknowingly and that it could have been contained in a supplement supplied by club doctors.
