Basinas played a key role in Greece's triumph at Euro 2004
Greece captain Angelos Basinas has been included in their squad for Euro 2008 despite picking up an ankle injury in Saturday's friendly defeat by Hungary.
Goalkeeper Antonis Nikopolidis is also included despite a thigh problem but is expected to be fit for the holders' opening game against Sweden on 10 June.
Defender Socratis Papastathopoulos has been cut from their provisional squad.
But Stelios Giannokopoulos, recently released by Bolton, and Manchester City's Georgios Samaras are included.
Samaras spent the second half of the 2007/08 season on loan at Celtic.
Another player with Premier League experience is goalkeeper Kostas Chalkias, who had an unsuccessful spell at Portsmouth.
Greece have a pre-tournament training camp in Germany from 25 May to 1 June.
Coach Otto Rehagel's squad features seven of the team that started the final against Portugal four years ago.
