The group stage of Euro 2008 has produced as many great moments as any football tournament in recent history.

Fans have been wowed by fantastic strikes, great moments of individual brilliance and even some bizarre scenes - such as Switzerland's waterlogged defeat to Turkey.

THIRD PLACE - CROATIA 2-1 GERMANY (DAY SIX)
"From Croatia's stunning win over Germany, I have to pick Slaven Bilic's celebration after Darijo Srna puts his side ahead - and sets them on the path to a famous win and a place in the quarter-finals. A moment of uncontained, pure joy. A moment you cannot be miserable watching... unless, that is, you're German."

SECOND PLACE - ITALY 1-1 ROMANIA (DAY SEVEN)
"Here's an easy pick: Italy keeper Gianluigi Buffon keeps his side in the tournament with a quite brilliant penalty stop from Adrian Mutu."

FIRST PLACE - NETHERLANDS 4-1 FRANCE (DAY SEVEN)
Cheesy: "It's so hard to pick a Champagne Moment from what was a Champagne game, but I've gone for the mad minute in which Thierry Henry got France back into the game with a deft finish only for Holland to restore their two-goal lead through Arjen Robben's devastating shot from nowhere."

SECOND PLACE - NETHERLANDS 3-0 ITALY (DAY THREE)
"We have picked, perhaps unsurprisingly, Netherlands' third goal as our Champagne Moment of the evening, though it's more like a Champagne Minute as it starts with Edwin van der Sar's brilliant save from Andrea Pirlo's free-kick and ends with Giovanni van Bronckhorst setting the seal on the Dutch victory by heading home. It was just a gorgeous, gorgeous goal."

FIRST PLACE - TURKEY 3-2 CZECH REPUBLIC (DAY NINE)
"What about Turkey's breathtaking comeback against Czech Republic? It could have been their second goal but it has to be their third, in the last minute, a great take from Nihat and a truly monumental finish, crashing it in off the underside of the bar from 20 yards. What drama."

Cheesy: "Not a lot of options in the opening match, so Vaclav Sverkos takes the honours for his goal - his first for the Czech Republic and the first of (hopefully) many in Austria and Switzerland."

PORTUGAL 2-0 TURKEY (DAY ONE)
Cheesy: "Turkey keeper Volkan was in the running for his brilliant save from Cristiano Ronaldo's free-kick until Portugal's second goal, a swift, deadly counter-attack which said everything about why Phil Scolari's side are one of the favourites. Brilliant stuff."

GERMANY 2-0 POLAND (DAY TWO)
Cheesy: "A deserved win and no arguing about the Champagne Moment. Lukas Podolski's second goal had it all. Lovely build-up, a comical mis-kick by Miroslav Klose and a smashing finish from Podolski, who showed respect to the country of his birth with his muted celebration."

AUSTRIA 0-1 CROATIA (DAY TWO)
Cheesy: "I'm going to give it to Roman Kienast's glancing header for Austria at the death which would have earned the co-hosts a well-deserved draw. For all the horror stories, Austria looked a well-organised, hard-working side - just short of a cutting edge and perhaps a bit of inspiration."

SPAIN 4-1 RUSSIA (DAY FOUR)
Stevo: "Spain produced some fantastic football and scored some wonderful goals and David Villa struck a brilliant hat-trick. But my moment belongs to Barcelona's Andres Iniesta, who produced a pass most footballers can only dream of playing for Villa to latch on to and score his and Spain's second. It was just beautiful."

SWITZERLAND 1-2 TURKEY (DAY FIVE)
Stevo: "I chose this more for the comedy value than anything else. With the rain lashing down in Basel and the pitch becoming almost unplayable, Eren Derdiyok rounds the keeper and crosses perfectly for Hakan Yakin. The ball brilliantly stops dead in a puddle, but Hakan Yakin keeps his composure to slot home. And watch how the man with Turkish ancestry does not celebrate, just like Poland-born Lukas Podolski when he bagged for Germany."

CZECH REPUBLIC 1-3 PORTUGAL (DAY FIVE)
Stevo: "Portugal's second goal was a move that combined the artistry and pinpoint passing of the brilliant Deco, who was awesome, and the clinical finishing of the world's best footballer, Cristiano Ronaldo. Cross, shoot, goal. Football gets no more simple."

AUSTRIA 1-1 POLAND (DAY SIX)
Cheesy: "No contest. It's Austria's stoppage-time equaliser. Not only did England's Howard Webb play a starring role, but the penalty - Austria's first goal at Euro 2008 - was slotted in by 38-year-old Ivica Vastic, the oldest ever scorer in a European Championship. Vastic had been in the international wilderness for three years until he was called up for a friendly last month."

GREECE 0-1 RUSSIA (DAY EIGHT)
Stevo: "It just has to be Russia's goal in their 1-0 win over Greece. It's not a standard goal - it features some kamikaze goalkeeping, a magnificent overhead kicked cross and a neat volleyed finish from matchwinner Konstatin Zyryanov. Just rewards for a fine performance from the young Russians."

SWEDEN 1-2 SPAIN (DAY EIGHT)
Stevo: "Surprisingly, it isn't David Villa's brilliant last-gasp winner, it's the frankly woeful decision of Dutch referee Pieter Vink not to give a penalty just before half-time for the most blatant foul you will ever see, Johan Elmander just about assaulting David Silva in the box and - to Spanish horror - getting away with it. Remarkable."

SWITZERLAND 2-0 PORTUGAL (DAY NINE)
Stevo: "Great win for the Swiss and congrats to Hakan Yakin for bagging a brace, but in a relatively meaningless game I'm nominating showboat's Ricardo Quaresma for an outrageous piece of skill that nearly leads to a goal. He could cross it left-footed, but why when you can do this?"

AUSTRIA 0-1 GERMANY (DAY 10)
Cheesy: "There ain't a lot of competition for tonight's Champagne Moments so it's just as well Michael Ballack struck a thunderous free-kick, the first of this tournament. The Chelsea man quite simply could not have struck this one any more sweetly."

POLAND 0-1 CROATIA (DAY 10)
Cheesy: "It has to be Ivan Klasnic's smart finish which earned Croatia a 100% record in Group B. Klasnic twice underwent kidney transplant surgery in 2007 and wears a fibreglass shield to protect him on the pitch. Fact."

NETHERLANDS 2-0 ROMANIA (DAY 11)
Cheesy: "The Dutch appear to be having some sort of Champagne Moment competition. Robin van Persie almost clinched it by nonchalantly bringing the ball down before seeing a fierce low shot brilliantly saved by the Romania keeper. But the Arsenal striker bettered that three minutes from time by nonchalantly bringing the ball down in the box, taking a couple of touches and smashing a rasping shot into the top of the net."

FRANCE 0-2 ITALY (DAY 11)
Cheesy: "It must be Eric Abidal's calamitous tackle on Luca Toni followed by Andrea Pirlo's cool-as-you-like penalty - the moment Italy took a grip on second place in Group C, and one that summed up France's disastrous Euro 2008."

GREECE 1-2 SPAIN (DAY 12)
Cheesy: "This game didn't have a lot riding on it so maybe that's why Xabi Alonso felt he could collect the ball inside his own half, look up and launch an audacious attempt at goal. Keeper Antonis Nikopolidis - in his last game for Greece - scrambles back and is massively relieved to see it go a yard wide. Well, to be fair, he doesn't see it go wide because he's colliding with the post at the time."

RUSSIA 2-0 SWEDEN (DAY 12)
Cheesy: "Only a win over Sweden would have put Russia through and they produced one of the performances of the tournament to do it, with Andrei Arshavin the architect. For the goal that sealed the win, Arshavin - who was suspended for the first two games - starts the move near the halfway line and then charges into the box to get on the end of left-back Yuri Zhirkov's cross. What a way to announce your arrival at Euro 2008.
