The only managerial double act at Euro 2004, Lars Lagerback and Tommy Soderberg have moulded a typically well-organised and disciplined Swedish side. Soderberg had spells with AIK Solna, IF Brommapojkarana, Djungardens IF and the Sweden Under-21 side before taking charge of the senior side in 1997.
His first move was to name Lagerback, then coach of Sweden's junior teams, as his assistant, before promoting him to joint-coach in 2000.
The pair came in for criticism after the Swedes flopped at Euro 2000 but restored their reputation by qualifying ahead of Argentina at the 2002 World Cup before bowing out to Senegal in the second round.
Soderberg takes more responsibility for training sessions and is considered a better man-motivator than Lagerback.
Lagerback is regarded as the superior tactician and will take sole control of the side when Soderberg steps down after Euro 2004.
Did you know? Neither Lagerback or Soderberg have ever coached outside of Sweden.
