It was feared Seedorf would miss Euro 2004 |
Holland midfielder Clarence Seedorf has been ruled out of his side's opening Euro 2004 game against Germany on 15 June by a hamstring injury. Seedorf picked up the injury during Saturday's 1-0 friendly defeat against the Republic of Ireland in Amsterdam.
A second MRI scan revealed the damage and Seedorf will not be able to train for five days although Holland have no plans to call up a replacement.
Coach Dick Advocaat said: "I am sure I cannot use him for at least a week."
It was originally feared the 28-year-old would miss Euro 2004 altogether after he limped off after 15 minutes of Saturday's warm-up game.
He now faces a race against time to be fit for Holland's other Group D games against the Czech Republic on 19 June and Latvia on 23 June.
