Jacques Santini will take over as Spurs boss after attempting to retain France's European crown. He has been the national coach for two years, taking charge after the World Cup flop under Roger Lemerre.
Santini left his post as technical director at Lyon, where he won the league as coach in 2001.
Working with a mixture of the ageing class of 98 and a crop of new stars, France won all of their eight qualifying games for Euro 2004.
Santini was part of the famous St Etienne team during the 1970s, winning four titles and two French Cups.
He went on to coach Toulouse, Lille, St Etienne and Sochaux before winning his first league title at Lyon.
Did you know? His first taste of silverware with the national team came in the 2003 Confederations Cup when a Thierry Henry goal secured victory over Cameroon in the final.
